
By carefully "grabbing" just a few threads of your fabric with your needle, the stitches will be close together and will secure the closing of your binding.
The next key is to work close to the folded edge of the binding, but mostly to the inside, close to the backing.
In the image, you can see that the needle is coming up at almost the edge of the binding (the green fabric), which works well, too. If your stitch on the binding is too far away from the folded edge, your stitches are more likely to show.
